Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

A note of faith~ The first two shows Jimmy Webb performed after his father passed, a venue Webb is known to appear when he is in Seattle, from a side alley after checking in, there is a long stair leading down to the main floor. A picture promoting Webb's upcoming book, while waiting to be seated I ...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Webb told the audience at the show I was at his people tried to contact kenye West about a sample, and were having trouble getting through, it was on the eve of the Grammy's. I am uncertain of the outcome, although I was pleased to find the song in question made it in Webb's memoir the last entry pa...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

The TV sound stage The Beatles appear on "A Hard's Night" are a dime a dozen up and down the English coastline, only The Beatles are going to alter the frequency they operate, like a jet plane through our living room. And Jimmy Webb busts the door wide open for something even bigger, it is...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

There is a big part Webb gets wrong in his memoir, the timeline for the movie "A Hard Day's Night". Here is a sort of fix it time frame. Sit back and enjoy the ride. 1963 is the year two blockbuster songs hit the charts, "She Loves You" & "I Want To Hold Your Hand"....

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

The bartender was shifting baskets of clean glasses, my wife could hear better, so maybe it was intended for the ladies, Jimmy Webb mentioned that him and his wife saw Campbell a couple months ago, and that Kim really is one of the most beautiful women that Webb knows, Glen has a way of lighting up ...

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

I am savoring Glen Campbell's autobiography "Rhinestone Cowboy", it is the second time I've read it, the first time in the late 90's when we were busy raising little ones, inhaled it is more like it, borrowing from his very life breath. It may be the basis of why I talk about the role a ro...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

The first night Jimmy Webb gets quiet, "My wife mentioned since I am Spiritual, perhaps I should pray more"... a Pause... Jimmy Webb sharing with his people... takes a deep breath through his nose, a filter perhaps, reaches his innermost soul, raises the level or volume of his voice one no...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Thank you, Mike for your kind reply! I just discovered a version of "Wichita Lineman" on the Creed Taylor Jazz Label from the early 70's. And last Friday, I read all of Glen's biography up to around page 175- in one sitting~ Glen talks about bringing John Hartford on board for his show, fa...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

If it's alright, I would like to enter a few things regarding Kenye West, it's where I first jumped in here after listening to Jimmy Webb discuss the Grammy's. It might provide a little closure. First off, Hip Hop and Rap are interchangeable but the genre is really Hip Hop. Rap is what you do in Hip...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

We used to have stacks of records in and out of their jackets piled on the floor, that is where I normally like to sit and watch the proceedings, even when the chairs and tables are pushed to one side, there is a tendency to get a little carried away when dancing gets more gymnastic, the big creases...
