Re: Check Out This Link

Interesting. Never run across one of these, though I have played the Rainsong carbon-fibre acoustic. It would be intriguing to play the two back to back some day.

Have to work on that.

Re: Did he ever use Marin from Australia

(ArgghhH!!! How do I post a picture?? Deep breath, Kevin..) Actually, Jay, I see both the black Tak and the 'Bird (which I seriously covet- already have a Tak like that). But there is a third instrument on the left side of the landing as well. I just tried to post a piece of the above image showing ...

Re: Did he ever use Marin from Australia

Hmmm... there is an acoustic cutaway on the landing (top left, behind the Bluebird 12str), just barely peeking out from the blue Ovation.. I don't recognise the headstock, but it doesn't look like an Ovation to me.... Wonder what it is?

Anyone aware?

Re: Glen Campbell's Teisco “Monkey Grip” T-60

You know, I'm starting to wonder if that was perhaps Glen's "test-bed" instrument, one where he used an inexpensive basic guitar to try out different configurations and hardware. Chet Atkins had one, a great big Gretsch that had so many different things tried out on it that you'd need an entire book...

Re: Glen Campbell's Teisco T-60

I had three different Teiscos in the early days- hated all three. I had a solid body two pickup (probably a J5) with their name on it, a "reagent" made by them that tried to copy a Gibson 355 and a strange, non-branded one that looked like someone put a guitar neck on a Hofner violin bass (a la Paul...

Re: Inflated Prices & Bootlegs

Selling copies of a BBC show may also bring on allegations of copyright problems for the seller, wouldn't you think?

Re: Which Ovation is considered the best?

When you put a bowl-back Ovation up for consideraton as your own instrument, you really need to think about how you plan to use it. For people like myself (short, short-ish arms and stubby fingers) they can be downright tough to get comfortable with, esp when you're sitting down! A few years ago dur...

Re: Wrecking Crew Guitar Picks

I've been to NAMM a couple of times. Every guitar vendor in the hall has pots of picks on the table so you can try out their wares. Different size, shapes, colors, but most with the maker's stamp on 'em. I came home with at least a dozen from each trip. Some from names like Taylor, Fender, and Gibso...
