Re: Royal Festival Hall 1977 CD

And I forgot thanks for spelling out how Glen song doctored "If you go away". Fascinating subject. Most changes seem to just make the song flow a little bit better. "I'd have been the shadow of your shadow" however is quite a creative change, a really good find, and in my view an improvement to the ...

Re: Royal Festival Hall 1977 CD

This appears to be a newer release of the same concert. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glen-Campbell-Concert-DVD/dp/B000UNVSVW But going on the duration this is not the complete concert. And the one I posted below did not contain the complete concert either according to one commenter. But maybe a complete...

Re: Royal Festival Hall 1977 CD

Good question Dee. I remember those DVD releases of the 1977 concert were budget releases with vague titles like "Glen Campbell in concert". Or perhaps it was only one DVD. I will look into it!

Perhaps it was this one...

Re: Royal Festival Hall 1977 CD

Hi Kelvin, very good question! And, thanks for joining us on GCF. You're right, both "Where's the playground Suzie" and "Turn around look at me" were left off the original album. They were first released in 1985 when the Royal Festival Hall concert was released on video. https://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Glen and Jimmie Haskell go back to 1961, when Glen started doing session work for Ricky Nelson.

Re: Setting the Record Straight: Glen Campbell on Paul Newman's "HUD" Score?

Hi Dee, very interesting post! Thanks! You actually found an AFM contract for that session? I'm curious if it mentions song titles or something else to link it to the HUD score? As far as hearing Glen... the solo guitar sounds not really like Glen. But then again Glen could play every style! Thanks ...

Ashley Campbell in De Melkweg, Amsterdam, September 6 2018

This Friday (September 6, 2018) I went to see Ashley Campbell together with my GC pal Casper in Amsterdam. We both didn't really know what to expect so beforehand we didn't worry about a thing. We had diner in a nice Surinam-Chinese restaurant near Central Station and then had a couple of beers in a...

Great posts Dee. Btw, I love the fact that Beach Boys Legacy lists Glen as one of the 10 official Beach Boys. Not everyone in the BB fan community agrees with that assessment. But I do of course!

Wow that's different. But in a good way. Plus Shannon's playing is getting better all the time.
