54ST ... Glen playing strats

""Glen playing Stratocaster guitars during the 60s and 70s"" Glen was playing Mosrites during the mid 60's, up until Ovation started making electric guitars for him. He certainly played electric Ovations religiously in the 70's. It would not surprise me to find him playing a Strat here and there dur...

Re: Glen's Guitars - Original Topic from 2011

The first Fender we see Glen with is the Tele, I think...but in the mid 60's he is seen with a strat. Forrest White tried to push Glen to Don Randall at Fender to let Glen be a Fender demonstrator...and Randall blew him off. That decision was probably hard to swallow beginning around 68/69 So Glen p...

Agoura Borealis Recording

Odd that they are selling it. Cal has gone to quite some trouble to promote it, as a producer, in the past year. https://www.facebook.com/agouraborealis/ But I see that the website that he devoted to its' promotion is now just a contact #. I always thought the studio was in the house... The 3-car ga...

A New Exhibit for Glen at the Musical Instrument Museum

The Musical Instrument Museum [/color] , 4725 E Mayo Blvd, Phoenix, Arizona, appears to have scored a couple of Glen's guitars and his bagpipes. The guitars appear to be his Viper , which he played religously on tour and his Deluxe Balladeer , which was Ovations first signature guitar for GLen. They...

Sam Houston's Article "Giving of Bread"

Sam Houston wrote an endearing article about how Texas Slim and his wife, Barbra Lasater, shared their knack for baking bread. Sam concluded his article by sharing a spiritual inflection relating to his experience. Sam, his mother, and his father were close friends with Slim and Barbara all of his l...

H.C. “Texas Slim” Lasater: Glen Campbell's First Bandleader

Texas Slim at his home in La Ventana, NM logo.jpg I n 1952, Glen Campbell loaded up and moved to Lindrith, NM to live with the Boytt and Lola Hardy family. They had heard Glen play and thought he could pick up some work as a guitar player around where they lived. I n Glen's autobiography, he shared...
