Re: Two Different "Ghost on the Canvas" Covers

I was just curious...as at some point when Ghost was released, Ovation re-issued Glen's 1627 as a Limited Edition in celebration of Glen and the release. Surfdog joined in that celebration with Ovation with an ad of their own. I was just wondering if Surfdog changed the album cover when Ovation and ...

Two Different "Ghost on the Canvas" Covers

While researching something else...I noticed what seems to be two different album covers for Ghost! One appears to have an Ovation, the other...possibly a Gibson.

On the back cover, it appears that they only used the back of the Gibson.

Lost Glen Campbell Album 'Sings For The King' Released

From 1964 to 1968—in between recording sessions with the Wrecking Crew, touring with the Beach Boys, and recording his own albums—Glen Campbell was recruited to record songs for the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley. Originally intended for Elvis's ears only, eighteen of these recently unearthed an...

1970 Advertisement with Glen's 1968 GC 12 String

This picture was used in a 1970 ad campaign by Ovation, as well as in a 2006 ad celebrating Ovations re-issue of Glen's 1627 Ovation. Although you cannot see the Glen Campbell signature on the head of the guitar, from other pictures in the photo op, it is clear that he is using the original GC 12 th...

Re: Thanks Glen Campbell

Smithpatel Very touching. I think that a lot of us have stories that in one way or another mirror parts of yours. Yes, I was also sad, but happy to see Glen 3 times on his farewell tour. He definitely shaped a lot of who I wanted to emulate, as a person and musician. As with many of the greats, you ...

Re: Glen's Ovation Patriot

What a beautiful guitar. It looks MINT!
Something about that nutmeg stain really went along with Ovation soundboards...and I am not the only one that has had that observation.
Thank you for sharing those pictures. Killer Ovation with an unbelievable low #.

Re: Glen's Ovation Patriot

wolffbark,
Welcome to the forums.
I have no idea. But..
The patriot was a guitar that most owners took pride in having. Your best bet is to join the OVATION FAN CLUB and pose your question there.

There were 1976 of them made...so it might be a tissue in a tornado, but you never know until you ask.

Our Newest Member and for you Cat Stevens fans

LEONARDMCCOY is our newest member. He is a well-regarded member of the Ovation Fan Club, but moreover, he has taken most of Cat Stevens (who played Ovation guitars) music and transcribed his songs to a guitar tablature and chord format at: https://catstevensguitar.wordpress.com/ cat_stevens.jpg cat3...
