Re: New DVD / CD Releases

This is a difficult one Cowpoke. I have looked up Stan Capps pianist and found no results. I looked up Customtone records and found only that album. Its a shame Glen didn't do some vocls on the record, as he did on his other instrumental album. The astounding 12 string guitar of Glen Campbell. That ...

Re: New DVD / CD Releases

Cowpoke/Dee, I have managed to find my copies of the Glen Campbell Appreciation Society newsletters and from no 3 dated January 1979.there is a section called "Society snippets and tantalising titbits" This is what it said "The Customtone Records album Guitar Gold is NOT Glen's first ...

Re: New DVD / CD Releases

Hi Cowpoke, It was quite a long time ago I read this, so I need to see if I can find the details again. You may be right but I felt sure this was the album in question. I must say its strange that these other albums were contested if he really was on them. I think if I recall correctly that at the t...

I'm Not Gonna Miss You - Grammy Nominations

There you go, I knew something positive would happen. If not the film then the songs. I will take that. You can't keep a good man down.

Re: New DVD / CD Releases

Be careful Cowpoke,
I have this album and I read that Glen sued over it as he was not on the session as indicated.
I can't remember where I read it but it was quite a few years ago. I am sure someone can confirm this better than me.

Re: Check Out This Link

Sounds like a good album Cowpoke. I will see if I can get it on Amazon. I love the fact that Galveston pushed it off the top. Cowpoke, didn't Glen say that he had 8 of the top 10 albums on the country charts at one point in an interview with Ralf Emery I saw a few weeks ago. That sounds like a great...

Re: I'll Be Me

I agree totally Cowpoke, As Dee, said who has even heard of some of these films that are on the short list. This I am afraid has been the trouble in the past. Glen has been overlooked and under rated many times over the years and this is now another of those moments. It seems they don't take into ac...

Re: I'll Be Me

It is certainly disappointing for James Keach and all those involved in the film not to be recognised for their great work, but there are other awards which it may pick up further down the line. However when all is said and done, the impact of the film can not be denied for all those who watched thi...

Re: Video of the Week: Wichita Lineman (w/ Stone Temple Pilo

This is Glen playing a 6 string bass guitar on Wichita Lineman. The 4 string bass guitars are tuned to the four bass strings of a normal guitar only at a lower actave. (I.E). E,A,G,B on a six string bass guitar they add a low B sting and a high C string (I.E) B - E- A-G- B- C so the usual 4 strings ...
