1968 Ovation Glen Campbell 12 String

W ith Glen's early success playing a 12 String, Ovation followed Glen's signature 6 string model ( The Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer ) with his own Ovation signature 12 string...The Glen Campbell 12 String. O vation first introduced their 12 string in late 1967, the Ovation Balladeer 12 String (Cr...

1968 Ovation Glen Campbell Deluxe Balladeer Prototype #1

G lens first signature acoustic came after Charlie Kaman took an Ovation to Glen for him to try out. When Charlie got back with Glen, Glen expressed his liking for the guitar and Charlie asked him..."What would you like to have?" And the first proto, the "Glen Campbell Deluxe Ballade...

These Days Remix

Clean, but it suxs. Totally just jams through a fantastic guitar track, that originally added warmth and a steady Travis picking beat which accentuates Glens vocals and the subtle changes to JB's song that personalizes it for him. George Doering did a killer job. I asked him what guitar he used on t...

Glen playing the Baldwin 801CP

I n 1970, Glen appeared on Johnny Carson, the Goodtime Hour and Tom Jones playing a Baldwin 801CP. Had he not seemed interested in the Prismatone equipped Baldwin, Charlie Kaman may have never developed the Prismatone equipped Ovation 1624. Here is a video from the Goodtime Hour back in November of...

Re: Check Out This Link

Glen put Galveston on the map. Oh...and they had a couple of serious hurricanes in their history, that almost took them off the map...
I think it is fitting that he did a concert in Galveston during the Goodbye Tour. Kind of completed the circle.

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

I am considering an individual's soul in the Christian sense ...not a ghost in the supernatural sense of the word. Can you cherry pick in this song...what are you going to do with those leftover ghosts and spirits? I mean the title has a ghost in it. Lol ... at some point we Catholics use to say In...

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

To me this song may be a sum of the parts, where the parts, individually are not congruent, with the overall meaning. Maybe you have to believe or have some knowledge in spirits, ghosts and souls...or have a better understanding of supernatural existence. I am not sure most Christians can do this. I...

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

"If so, then how do the Van Gogh references fit in with the song's meaning?" Bingo! It boils down to what Westerberg had in mind when he penned it whether it was Van Gogh or Casper (the friendly ghost)...but we know the song wasn't written for or about Glen, but as most mystical songs, you...

Re: Ghost on the Canvas - Share your thoughts!

"do people use the expression "ghost on a canvas", independently of this song" Not to my knowledge. I have never heard or read it prior to the release of the album. "ghosting" is used quite a bit, in different venues. Sometimes referring to something bleeding over, but ...
