Glen Campbell's Epiphone Zephyr Deluxe Regent

T he Zephyr De Luxe Regent was Epiphone’s second-from-the-top electric guitar produced from the late 1940s through the mid ’50s. The instrument went through several name changes, from Zephyr De Luxe Cutaway in 1948, to Zephyr De Luxe Regent, in 1950, to the DeLuxe Electric around 1954. The Zephyr D...

Re: Can You Identify These Guitars?

Semie Mosley Started with Rickenbacker when he was a kid. Then started making his own guitars by hand. He got visibility by top names (Nokie, Glen, B Mandrell) using his guitars and then his business grew and became pretty popular. Then didnt and he went BK. Started all over again and passed away. I...

Re: Glen's History with Ovation Guitars

Mike, now is the time to buy. Decent older Ovations are becoming harder and harder to come by. If you just want to add a pickup, K&K, Fishman, Baggs, as well as others, actually make decent pickups that would work in your guitar, where the jack is in the strap end pin. The 1127 has a deep Ovatio...

Glen Campbell's Teisco “Monkey Grip” T-60

Teisco was a Japanese manufacturer of affordable (cheap) musical instruments from 1948 until 1969. They were imported into the US sometime around 1950 and were often rebranded by other "affordable" guitar companies. Teisco typically copied the popular guitar designs, but the T-60 was an or...

Glen Campbell's Mosrite D100 Californian

I n the early days, all of Mosrite’s guitars were hand made custom orders. Mosrite could well have remained a small company, making guitars by special order, but Semie Moseley loaned a guitar to Nokie Edwards, of the Ventures, to use on some recording sessions and within a year the Ventures had sig...

Re: Can You Identify These Guitars?

Headstock says it is a Mosrite 335 knockoff. It has a thinner body and bigger pickguard than the one in the BW picture. Depending on when this photo was taken, it might be a Gibson body, with one of Semie's necks on it. He was known to do that when he first got started.

Glen Campbell's Martin D-18

Of all the acoustics Glen has played in his career, the Martin D18, that he used in the early 60's, as a session musician, appears to have been one of his favorites. One of the stories told is that in the early/mid 60's Glen was playing golf with a guy that pulls a Martin D18 out of his trunk in the...

Re: Can You Identify These Guitars?

Cowpoke...not a lot to go on...but Martin use to make archtops that broke off the "f"s like that.

Re: Say Hello to Other Members!

Hi, my name is Jay. I have been a Glen Campbell fan since 68. A lot of what Glen did on his show impacted my tastes in music, as well as having a (costly) fondness for Ovation guitars. I was briefly a part of the old forum and am looking forward to being a part of this forums lively celebration of G...

Re: Glen's History with Ovation Guitars

Ovation started producing guitars in late 66 and went into full production in 67. Kaman took one of the first Balladeers to Glen during that time and Glen loved it, endorsing Ovation in 68. So you probably can see the transition from Mosrite to Ovation during that time on the show.
