Okay, thanks Siblis!

Great news for Glen's "I'm Not Gonna Miss You"!
As an outcome of the exposure this song received at the Academy Awards:

Downloads of "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" increased along with the other three nominated songs, for a combined download of 75,000. Sales of "Glory", the Oscar-winning song, saw an increase of 28,000 downloads.

Also, regarding the I'll Be Me soundtrack:
The soundtracks that housed the Best Original Song nominees also saw a giant leap, moving a combined 7,000 copies. Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me led the group, selling almost 3,000 copies for a stunning 805 percent jump from the previous week.

From CMT online, one hour ago:
Tim McGraw Plots His Return to Nashville

This article includes Tim McGraw's comments about Glen Campbell during one of his interviews on the Red Carpet at the Oscars, pre-show:
“I’m a huge fan of Glen Campbell’s,” he continued. “I think the legacy that he’s left across the musical landscape is just incredible. He’s transcended all genres with the kind of music that he’s made — playing guitar on so many records in the ‘60s from the Beach Boys and some of the great songs that he’s had like ‘Wichita Lineman’ and ‘Rhinestone Cowboy.’ He’s just a true artist.”

Trivia question from me based on a blog* I just read:

According to the blog, "when Gwyneth Paltrow came out to introduce the Glen Campbell song performed by Tim McGraw, the orchestra played the theme from 'To Kill a Mockingbird.'"

Is this true? Tell us it wasn't so!

Hi, Shelia,
Thanks so much for your open and honest post.
I did see "Selma". I am embarrassed that the true historical events that it was based on were unknown to me until I saw this film.
I don't remember studying these events in school. I'm fairly certain this period of history wasn't covered in any kind of detail in our textbooks.
Your state lived these events; my state in the northeast overlooked them? Or at least the school system did?
I highly recommend seeing "Selma".
"Glory" works well in the film. It releases the tension that builds up in the movie and celebrates the march to the state capitol and the changes that Dr. King and others were able to make happen.
I just really wanted "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" to be recognized with an Oscar because it would have been recognition for "Glen Campbell I'll Be Me" (the doc, the Campbell family, the filmmakers, the production team including Julian Raymond) as well as for Glen. I think this documentary deserved the Oscar for Best Documentary, and of course that's my objective opinion. :)
The good news for Glen's film is that CNN has bought the distribution rights in the US to broadcast it twice: in June and in November. This broadcasting deal is like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow that follows a storm. Hopefully millions of people will get to see this film.
The next big event is the release of "The Wrecking Crew" documentary. Glen is in this documentary, too.
Thanks for the reminder about the ACM Awards! I just checked the date: April 19th! Video of the year for I'm Not Gonna Miss You!
Another awards show to look forward to!
Dee

Tim McGraw

Here's a man, a top notch entertainer, singer, actor, husband, father, you name it, that is asked to perform a song of the highest importance, and what does he do. First thing, he states , that it is an honor, that Glen's music and songs are a cut above.

Then he rehearses, and I feel certain he rehearsed prior to the Oscars rehearsal, and tears up the eyes of everyone there.

Then he comes out on Oscar night , and delivers, what is an exceptional performance in honor of Glen Campbell that he can look back on for the rest of his life and be extremely proud of. This performance gets the best of best reviews and it should.

I've watched that video clip of Tim's performance no less than two dozen times so far, and it ranks number one for me by far of all the Oscar performances I've ever watched.

I can say a huge Thank you to
Tim McGraw
