By the way, for U.S. fans, "Burning Bridges", the digital album, is now available for download.
I found my copy at: http://www.amazon.com/Burning-Bridges-G ... n+campbell" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. No liner notes.
I can't tell if it has been remastered; can you? I certainly hear the horn section more than I did on the LP. I'd forgotten what a beautiful album this one is...
From the back cover of the original LP is a beautiful description of the album's title song and Glen's voice and guitar playing:
"Burning Bridges" is a song so right in its melody, so real in its saga of heartbreak, with so much meaning for so many listeners that it has become a big hit twice in just a few years. First time out, the singer was the gifted Jack Scott. This time, the man who has put "Burning Bridges" right back up at the top of the public popularity polls is Glen Campbell."
"Glen is a big, big talent. His singing ability is easily the equal of his virtuoso artistry as guitarist. Glen's styles a song, goes right to the heart of it, sings it so sincerely and feelingfully, he gives it the impact of an emotion actually experienced, and shared with the listener in song. This is the kind of talent that has made "Burning Bridges" a best-selling conflagration that has blazed again to the top of the charts."
# # #"This album is a kind of survey of the finest vocal recordings to date of an extraordinary singing star; and that star makes of each song something very special to enjoy. Glen Campbell brings to each the same abundant talent that has made "Burning Bridges" span the gap between country and popular music to become a standout favorite with listeners everywhere."
