Heartbreaking, heartstopping to suddenly lose a tremendous country music legend, Merle Haggard, who was only 79 years old and a contemporary of Glen Campbell's. Glen Campbell Forums extends our deepest condolences and love to Merle's family, friends and fans.

A favorite photograph in the country music world is of Glen Campbell with Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and Johnny Cash taken for an episode of the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour when these four country legends appeared together. I feel this particular collaboration was important to Glen because he and his family honored this Goodtime grouping with a personal copy of the photo in their home, and the photo was also incorporated in Glen's official music video for "Ghost On The Canvas", the single. Below is a snapshot from the video image:

Also, this is the infamous Goodtime Hour performance with the four superstars:

Surprised that nobody wrote in about the passing of "Garry Shandling"-Wow!!

Garry Emmanuel Shandling (November 29, 1949 – March 24, 2016) was an American comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. He was best known for his work in It's Garry Shandling's Show and The Larry Sanders Show.

Shandling began his career writing for sitcoms such as Sanford and Son and Welcome Back, Kotter. He made a successful stand-up performance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and became a frequent guest-host on the show. Shandling was for a time considered the leading contender to replace Carson (other hopefuls were Joan Rivers, David Letterman and David Brenner). In 1986 he created It's Garry Shandling's Show, for the pay cable channel Showtime. It was nominated for four Emmy Awards (including one for Shandling) and lasted until 1990. His second show, The Larry Sanders Show, which began airing on HBO in 1992, was even more successful. Shandling was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards for the show and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 1998, along with Peter Tolan, for writing the series finale. In film, Shandling had a recurring role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as well as a voice in DreamWorks Animation's Over the Hedge.

During his three-decade career, Shandling was nominated for 19 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, along with many other awards and nominations. He served as host of the Grammy Awards four times and as host of the Emmy Awards three times.

Glen performed with Frank Sinatra on the lp, " Strangers in the Night", title track! Those actually fell into Glens session days. Glen always spoke about how he kept staring at Frank and when they were done recording, Frank asked " who is that Fag at the end"! ? Glen couldn't believe he was with the one and only BLUE EYES

Thank you for posting these notices, ar.
2016 has been a tragic year -- and it's only March.
Our world gets a little smaller in terms of big talent.
When did Glen perform with Frank Sinatra? Would this have been in Vegas?
Or back in the session playing days?

Death of Frank Sinatra, Jr.

January 10, 1944 - March 16, 2016
Age 72
Singer, actor followed in his famous father's footsteps!!
If I read this correctly, Frank Jr. was touring at the time of his demise. What shame - we have lost so many people and way too soon. If you recall Frank Jr.'s father, The one and only Frank Sinatra-- Glen sang with him!!

Another one passed away:
Death of Paul Daniels

April 6, 1938 - March 17, 2016
Age 77

British magician and entertainer. This guy was really great.

Kids show creator dies - Bartlett man behind 'Kiddie-A-Go-Go' - and other TV spots
Courier News (Elgin, IL) - February 28, 2016

"A Bartlett (Illinois) man behind the childhood TV memories of many Chicago-area baby boomers has died.
Jack Mulqueen, 83, had been ill for two weeks prior to his death Feb. 21 as a result of congestive heart failure at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital, according to his sister, Maryann O'Neill.
Mulqueen and his wife, Elaine, who died in 2012, may be best known for the after-school hit 'Kiddie-A-Go-Go.'"

Kiddie-A-Go-Go was a televised children's dance show originating in Chicago.
"...record labels sent stars - including Glen Campbell, Roger Miller, Lesley Gore, Frankie Valli and the Cowsills - and local rock heroes, including the New Colony Six. A clip of that band's "Kiddie-A-Go-Go" appearance has been viewed more than 100,000 times on YouTube."
Have any fans seen video of Glen Campbell performing on this program?

RIP, Mr. Mulqueen...
