I just listened to Dee's post of Glen singing on that Demo, and even though it doesn't really sound like the Glen Campbell we all know and love, it is! He actually recorded that in a twang type of voice, but when listening to it, there are many parts that is his normal voice. Randy--listen to it again as it is a GREAT recording of that track Thank you Dee.

I'm sorry on that YT link, that does not sound like Glen Campbell to me singing. I've been wrong before.

Here's a link that confirms (which I didn't need confirmation) of Arlw's post as I know she knows her stuff. I just wish the audio on this link here would play though :o

Sharon Sheeley is often referred to as Eddie Cochran's
girlfriend and nothing else. In fact, she has been a highly successful
songwriter. Along with co-writer Jackie De Shannon she became part of
the first female writing team to have significant success in the pop
world. The album has been compiled by Sharon herself, and features top
musicians including Glen Campbell, PJ Proby and Herb Alpert.

Blue Dreams / Glen Campbell / Blue Ribbons / Glen Campbell / Don't Wait Too Long / Mac Davis & Larry Collins / Dream On / Dean Hawley / Guitar Child / Glen Campbell / Heartbreak You're Calling Me / Mac Davis / He's The Great Imposter / Pj Proby / I'd Weaken / Pj Proby / It's A Good Thing / Herb Alpert / It's Just Terrible / Pj Proby / Look Into The Mirror / Mac Davis & Larry Collins / Mrs Mac / Ben Findon / Don't Dress The World In Black / Dean Hawley / The Dream Of The Year / Glen Campbell / Cheers Love / Ben Findon / Forgot To Forget / Eddie Reeves / Mr Guitar Man / Glen Campbell / What A Groovy World / Raul Abeyta/

Is Glen Campbell on this Demo?

Post by Dee »

Hi, All,

Do you think this is an actual demo by Glen Campbell? It doesn't sound like him; perhaps he was just playing guitar?

"Glen Campbell - Blue Ribbons (For Her Curls) Early Demo Recording)"

Posted on YouTube with the following description:
In the early 1960's, Glen Campbell was still honing his skill as a performer, songwriter, singer, and studio musician. While he'd already had some success of his own as a solo artist, he continued to be an in-demand session guitarist, who also cut demos for songwriters. Written by Sharon Sheeley and Jackie DeShannon in 1963, this would be released in 1965 by Vic Dana, The Paramounts and Peter Ford. I suspect Glen's version of the song is from 1963. I like it, and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

I'm interested in reading what you all think about this recording. Thanks!

Dee
