Here's some more information about that new True Grit CD, from a fan.
The CD is a picture disc and comes with a 24-page booklet (including the front and back covers) and has detailed descriptions of each track and pictures from the 1969 film.
On the back cover, special thanks is given to "Glen Campbell", "Stanley B. Schneider, CPA" and others involved with this release by La-La Land Records.
Track 1 True Grit (main title song, 2:01 minutes) is sung by Glen Campbell, and this track was originally included on the film's 1969 album. In the movie, it was played during the opening credits.
Track 2 True Grit (alternate) is performed by Glen Campbell and has less orchestration and includes harmonica. This version was originally supposed to be used for the True Grit movie, but it was replaced with Track 1 (the album version).
Bonus Tracks on this CD:
Track 21 Go Home Girl was written by John Hartford and is sung by Hartford.
Track 22 Go Home Girl is a revised version sung by Glen.
Track 23 Go Home Girl has revised lyrics and was written in a higher key, also sung by Glen.
Track 24 The Eyes of the Young (True Grit but with completely different, earlier lyrics!) is sung by Glen.
Track 27 True Grit (2:30 minutes) is sung by Glen and is the "pop" version that was used to open the original album.
In the CD's credits, Glen Campbell is credited for performing guitar along with 5 other guitarists.
Tracks 1 and 27 were recorded March 13 and May 16, 1969; Al DeLory is credited as conductor.
Go Home Girl is included on this CD as "Courtesy of John Hartford Office and Glen Campbell". The score was recorded on different dates.
