New CD released yesterday. Just live recordings from a 1991 concert in Doncaster England. Anyone familiar with this concert? Glen's got that George Jones 70s look going on the cover photo.

Here's a review of David Nail's new album.

"Then there’s the pristine cover of Glen Campbell’s “Galveston” with Lee Ann Womack, which closes the album. It’s a perfect fit for David’s magnificent voice, and a straight line drawn back to another guy who could sing anything."

I have been sleeping guys. Capitol has released a previously unreleased Glen Campbell track from the Vaults!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWV ... B00GWVB27G" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's "Everybody Loves Somebody" recorded february 2nd 1963!

It has been released on December 10, 2013 on a mp3 album called Capitol Vaults: Lost Treasures Volume 1.

Let's hope that there will be many more volumes!

And to make things even better, Glen's live version of "The Impossible Dream" from the 1970 "Proudly They Came to Honor America" album has also been released digitally!

Review of Collin Raye's tribute album.
http://www.hallels.com/articles/845/201 ... review.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Both Collin Raye and David Nail are at least trying to spread the word about Glen. I really have the impression that even though Glen has been inducted into the Country Hall of Fame and has been receiving lots of industry praises now in the tail end of his career, he is not a househould name in Nashville. In an interview between Brooks (of country hit duo Brooks and Dunn - there's another new name for you Stephen! :-)) and David Nail for instance is was mentioned that you don't hear Glen's music on country radio anymore and that he is rarely mentioned when it comes to legendary and influential country artists. Collin too recently said something similar, everybody's always talking about George (Jones) and Merle, but not about Glen. So... I appreciate efforts like Collin's album in that light.

Here you can listen to Collin Raye's version of Galveston which is being released as a single.

http://keanradio.com/collin-raye-releas ... galveston/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also included a video in which Collin promotes the new single. He says some wonderful things about Glen.

Collin's version actually gave me goosebumps. His voice is perfect to sing Glen's song and the mostly acoustic arrangement is really a tribute to the incomparable original. But maybe the thing that moved me most was actually fully realizing that Glen will never sing these songs in concert again...

http://www.americana-uk.com/cd-reviews/ ... -head-2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

quote:
His version of “Its Only Make Believe” is a case in point. His vocal captures the gut emotion of the song and as it progresses and the strings rise he rises with them, clawing his way out of the schmaltz to hit the final anguished refrain. It’s a masterpiece.
