I'll Be Me - The Documentary

That is a great list Dee. I remember another clip with just Steve Martin and Keith Urban but I can't find it anymore.

Here a new interview/article with Kim Campbell and James Keach.

[Updated March 3, 2015--Dee]

Hi, Hilary,

I put together a list of videos that are film clips from "I'll Be Me" and an NPR interview that has audio from the documentary.
Also, as you read through this topic, I'll Be Me, which is currently 38 pages in length, you may see a few other video and audio links and also lots of articles that describe scenes in the film, what it was like working with Glen in the film, etc.

GLEN CAMPBELL I'LL BE ME Official Movie Trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAtgraWN5-I" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is the official trailer for the documentary and shows many short highlights from "I'll Be Me".
In the beginning of the doc, an overview of Glen's early life, celebrity and achievements are shown to introduce Glen Campbell to viewers who don't know Glen's history.

Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me Movie CLIP - Mayo Clinic (2014) - Glen Campbell Documentary HD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1tfKrbN_Xc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This scene takes place near the beginning of the film and shows Glen’s testing and diagnosis at the Mayo Clinic.

Added: 2015 02 09 Glen Campbell Documentary Shares Alzheimers Journey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXF_ilNO09U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This video focuses on Alzheimer's disease and also the tests Glen had at the Mayo Clinic. It includes additional footage from the documentary, some of which was later cut--such as Glen taking the test with the red and white cubes. Glen singing Rhinestone Cowboy is not in the documentary.

Added: No Shame: Glen Campbell Documentary Follows Singer's Goodbye Tour
http://www.npr.org/2014/10/27/359314188 ... odbye-tour" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
From NPR All Things Considered, October 27, 2014. This interview with Kim Campbell and James Keach uses audio taken from a few scenes in the documentary.

GLEN CAMPBELL I’LL BE ME Clip: Glen’s Faith and Family
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nafCCofiwtU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In this film clip, Glen is shown standing at the Campbell Family cemetery located in Billstown or Delight, Arkansas, which I believe he visited during the Campbell Family Reunion (August 2012?) in Arkansas. (Some short footage of this reunion is shown in the film, but not in this film clip.) The scenes with Ashley and Kim, as well as the Goodbye Tour concert scenes, are also in the film.

Celebrities Talking About Glen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ7zwvElefM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I believe most, if not all, of these celebrities’ talks are in the film. The documentary includes many short interviews that include Kim, Jimmy Webb, a family friend, Shannon, Ashley, Cal, James Keach, staff/friends who were on the Goodbye Tour with Glen, and, of course, Glen, who talks about the importance of this film to him.

Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me Movie CLIP - Ryman (2014) - Glen Campbell Documentary HD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUB2WEOqDxY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Glen performing at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville during the Goodbye Tour is shown in the film. This is a great concert scene with lots of close-ups on Glen's guitar playing.

Watch Glen Campbell’s Final Concert in ‘I’ll Be Me’ Clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPMlDJu1HI4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This clip was in an earlier or later version (or both) of “I’ll Be Me”. This scene takes place near the end of the film to show how Glen’s health had declined from the start of the tour due to Alzheimer’s disease. Kim talks about the family’s realization that it was time for the tour to end. Although not seen in this clip, Shannon talks in the film about how sad it was that Glen didn’t have an understanding at this point that this would be his last concert.

Glen Campbell - I'm Not Gonna Miss You - A Scene From Glen Campbell I'll Be Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrIW5RpvBnM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This moving scene appears near the very end of the film when Glen is recording “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” in a studio with Julian Raymond and three former members of The Wrecking Crew. They recorded in January 2013, after the Goodbye Tour had ended.

I hope these links at least give you a good idea of the film....showing Glen at the top of his early to mid-career, his diagnosis, the decision to announce Glen's diagnosis to the world and then move forward with a short tour (that later became a 151-concert tour), the audience's love and support for Glen during the concerts, concert scenes from different cities, the effects of Alz's on Glen and his family and how his symptoms worsened during the tour, Glen onstage at the Grammys on February 12, 2012 after he had received a Lifetime Achievement Award, and more! I hope you get to see this film in June on CNN.

Welcome, Hilary! I am so glad you have joined Glen Campbell Forums! I will put together a YouTube list of clips from "I'll Be Me" to post here for you.

You joined at a most perfect time -- to share in fans' excitement about the Academy Awards and Glen Campbell's nomination for an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Also, this breaking news will perhaps answer at least part of your question:

CNN Acquires Doc 'Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me' (Exclusive)
The Hollywood Reporter, 2015 February 22, 2:06pm PST
CNN has picked up domestic broadcast rights to Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The cable channel plans to premiere the PCH Films documentary in June and again in November. The film was directed by James Keach and produced by Trevor Albert and Keach.
"We look forward to having the Campbells’ brave story — unfortunately familiar to too many American families — on CNN," said Albert. "This partnership will guarantee that millions of people will have the opportunity to see our movie and understand just how important it is to both raise awareness — and find an end — to Alzheimer’s disease."
From: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/c ... ell-776216" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hilary, "domestic rights" of course indicates a U.S. release on cable television. A second broadcast in November could mean (just a guess) that "I'll Be Me" will not be released on DVD until after the second broadcast. As soon as we learn more about this CNN deal, we will post this information on the forums. There are so many fans who have not been able to see "I'll Be Me" because of its limited independent film release; to my knowledge, it was not shown in Europe, and Glen has so many dedicated, loyal fans outside of the U.S. However, this announcement from CNN is tremendous news in terms of the Campbells' intention for bringing awareness to Alz's disease.

No, no DVD yet Hillary. On youtube, there is only the trailer and some short clips. I think a DVD release is planned for later this year, but maybe our moderator Dee knows some more details. Did you see the clip of Paul McCartney, from your hometown, visting Glen backstage? Wait a minute, is that how you discovered Glen? :)
