Re: The Saddest Song in Glen's Songbook

Rolling Stone published a list of the 40 saddest country songs of all time:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists ... p-20140926" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This article got me thinking about a song that could be considered Glen's saddest song in his song book. "Wichita Lineman" comes to my mind first with its lyrics about a lonely lineman and its haunting (to me) organ sounds.

"Tomorrow Never Comes" (released on two early albums, "Too Late To Worry, Too Blue To Cry" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix") is a close second. Nothing sadder, maybe, than a tomorrow or love that never comes despite one's yearning for it.

What song or songs do you find to be the saddest of Glen's songs?
