Thank you, Rickv404,

It means a lot to me that you took the time to post the answer to my question, I do believe that I can commit your answer to memory, the beautiful Glen Campbell song Letting Go composed by John Barry/ Don Black.

Amazon.com has one unopened copy of The Golden Seal John Barry Soundtrack for around forty dollars

Another place to shop for, or even better, home of the ultra rare Glen Campbell 45 Single Letting Go. Digital remaster track with no scratches or pops.

Shall we say...

Let's Go!

The John Barry credit for the Letting Go 45 Single isn't complete, Barry had help with the lyrics, and I need to hunt down their name, I think Dee showed it to me once.
That would be the same lyricist of "True Grit" - Don Black.

WOW! Thank you, Cowpoke.

This morning I noticed that you and I were both online, it is nice to know that you were here supplying my answer for the Bills and Capehart 45 Single songwriting credits.

I went through the list of rare 45 singles that I posted here and compiled the songwriter credits in alphabetical order, which looks something like this:
(I made sure to add Dick Bills to the final count)

The John Barry credit for the Letting Go 45 Single isn't complete, Barry had help with the lyrics, and I need to hunt down their name, I think Dee showed it to me once.

It is a big deal to have a working list of songwriters for the rare 45 Singles because there are around 18 songwriters I wouldn't have known about unless I bought and studied the 45's.

I am looking forward to hear the hardest ones to track down or can't afford to buy right now, because the vintage collectible price is so high, Dee has provided a lot of links to these when normally it would've been years before I would get to hear them in some shape or form, so thank you, everybody for sharing your vast knowledge.

Here are the list of songwriters I just provided which I need to add to my existing list of 500+ songwriters on 64+ main Glen Campbell albums.

An incredible journey of discovery.

And I forgot to add that yes, the orchestra backing was added later to those Starday albums. There were originally song demos, recorded around 1961. The backing was added around 1968.

Crest 1089 as by Dick Bills
From Here To Nowhere b/w Rockin & a' Rollin'

"Rockin' and a Rollin'" was credited to Dick Bills. Have to look up the b-side for you.

Crest 1011 as by Jerry Capehart
Song Of New Orleans
Theme For The Young & Blue

Both songs are credited to Jerry Capehart.

Both singles are not really singles by Glen Campbell of course. Glen is assumed to be playing guitar on both. I believe one Crest compilation CD confirmed that it was Glen who plays the two blistering guitar solos on "Rockin' and a Rollin'".

Hello, everybody,

I am in need of a new eye prescription, that's why I have said a number of times I am sorry when I misspell or mispronounce something, but I am sure the label number and dates I provide are are good, but if I misspell something, it really is only because I am excited.

I do need help to learn who wrote 4 Glen Campbell singles.

Could you please provide the songwriting credits for:

Crest 1089 as Dick Bills
From Here To Nowhere b/w Rockin & a' Rollin'

Crest 1011 as Jerry Capehart
Song Of New Orleans
Theme For The Young & Blue

Dee said that Cowpoke or Arlw may be able to help.

I genuinely care and the last couple post that you provided shows that there is still a lot of hunting around to do, so thank you.

Here are two albums that have Jerry Capehart's imprint that I would like to enter the tracks in alphabetical order, which I initially had a sneaking suspicion that they were recorded in Los Angeles in the early 60's, stuffed into a trunk and hawked in Nashville, to my surprise, Son Of Flintstone says that I am not too far off the mark!

Thank you, Son.

After deep soul searching, I have come to the conclusion the tracks are good as the ones from the album, Too Late To Worry, Too Blue To Cry, at best, or early Glen Campbell recordings that were dressed up to match that sound.

As you may know, they are vocals which were recorded in the early 60's and released in the latter part of the decade, pulled from the store shelves in a short time and the artist compensated handsomely, original pressings which prove to be a main staple in today's market, and can be purchased for around ten dollars apiece plus S&H.

(1). COUNTRY MUSIC NO. 1
(10 tracks by Horton/Bryan)

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
GROOVIN' COUNTRY

I'M A FOOL FOR YOU
I NEED YOU

NO NEED OF LYING
ONE OF THESE DAYS

TALKING TO MYSELF
THE ASHES OF TIME
THE JUDGE & THE JURY

WHY DO YOU DO ME THIS WAY

(2). COUNTRY SOUL
(8 tracks by Horton/Bryan)
* Horton/Morgan/Campbell
** Horton/Morgan/Bryan/Kirkland

ANOTHER FACE, ANOTHER PLACE

I'LL ALWAYS BE WAITING

*MY WHOLE LIFE THROUGH

REMIND ME OF YOU

**SMOKEY BLUE EYES
SOMETHING TO REMEMBER

THE LOVE OF A WOMAN
THREE'S A CROWD

WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE
WHY TRY TO TO LIE

According to Son Of Flintstone. there is a Starday 45 Single: Starday 853 (February 1969) For The Love Of A Woman b/w Smokey Blue Eyes

I'm curious if the lush strings, brass and choir were added later or were a part of the original recording sessions.

Anybody?

As a fan. I hope the original recordings weren't tampered with too much.

Thank you everybody, for your help, someday I will have a nice collection, big as yours.

Love,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Great list! Thanks for compiling it. I think I can help with some of the songwriting credits but I have to check some things first.

A few additions from the top of my head would be Glen's 1977 version of William Tell Overture that was the b-side to Southern Nights. And have you ever heard of the Netherlands-only single Nothing Hurts Like You Do?

Thanks again for all the hard work Rob! Looking forward to more of your research work.

There is something else that has never been properly documented by the way. Maybe it's something you might want to record as well, while researching Glen's singles. It's the duration of the songs. At this moment I don't have a clue whether a single contains exactly the same track as the album or whether a single edit has been made. Comparing the duration of the single and album track gives a good indication whether this is the case.

It's just an idea of course! But I think it would be very interesting. Thanks again Rob. We are very lucky to have you here on the forum.

Have you ever wanted something so bad you went for it no matter the consequences or what somebody else thinks?

Well, that's how I felt when I went to look for all the songs off Glen Campbell 45 Singles that never appeared on one of his main album releases or been digitally remastered.

It took around a hundred hours to find the A & B Sides and their Label numbers but there was no info on the internet who wrote the songs, I had to buy and order them to see or find that out, and that took around a $150.

I'm still looking for a few songwriting credits but for the most part here are the ultra rare 45 Singles that to the best of my ability are worth seeking out and hope they end up on a digital compilation one day.

Glen Campbell has 64+ main albums to his credit, and over 96+ 45 Singles, it has been nice to see his backers promoted all the songs and that there are only a handful which are hard to find or buy on the internet, no table scraps here, a rich gold vein to enhance an incredible recording career and legacy.

Here are the titles and accompanying songwriters to keep on your radar, a list compiled from the sweat of my brow and that I am excited to present here.
