Hi all,
you can now listen how Glen's famous reverse guitar solo at the beginning of "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" by The First Edition (with Kenny Rogers) originally sounded, in the members-only Resources section of Glen Campbell Forums here:

I don't know if this is the correct thread to use, but i just wanted to mention that on BBC radio 2 the other day they played Glen.They have a section on the Steve Wright show called non stop oldies and it started with UP up and away and then went straight into Galveston. These songs are chosen by a listener and they usually play half a dozen songs which are favourites of that listener. I thought it was great to hear Glen singing in his prime on the radio and it took me back to a different time. Wonderful stuff.

For those who missed it, here's that link again where you can download Wink Martindale's radio tribute to Glen, that he did around last Christmas. The show is primarily based on a 1977 interview Wink did with Glen, which is especially interesting because Glen has brought his guitar and sings (parts of) quite a few songs in between the talking.

http://pab58.com/2014/12/15/wink-martin ... -campbell/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you have any trouble downloading it, please let me know.

The reason I am posting it again is that Glen also performed part of a unknown song during that 1977 interview with Wink. I thought it was beautiful and wondered which song it was.
Well, it turns out the song is called "One of the Few", written by a scottish songwriter called John Cooper (Glen calls him "a coalminer from Scotland" in the interview). Interestingly enough, Jimmy Webb recorded the song a few years later for his 1982 album "Angel Heart".

Knowing the giant songwriter Jimmy is himself, he must have thought the song was pretty good.

Here you can listen to an interview with the songwriter John Cooper.

Now did Glen bring the song to Jimmy's attention or the other way around? Maybe forum friend and Jimmy Webb expert Erik from Denmark tells us more about this song?

Bringing this special audio interview out of the archives. Lisa Marie Presley discusses the "Tracks of My Years" including one of Glen Campbell's songs. This interview is from February 15. 2013 from BBC radio:

Not certain if this NPR interview was previously posted. The download and transcript are both available. Soundbites from some of the "I'll Be Me" scenes are included, and some are difficult to listen to.

Cowpoke, the audio link you posted on December 16th with Wink Martindale and Glen is outstanding; a true Campbell tribute. It's probably one of the best GC interviews I have ever heard! Glen is very open and sharing about his career, life, and personal philosophy.

Thank you!

Here is WInk's description of it from his post on Facebook on December 14, 2014:
Call this a salute, a retrospective, a Christmas card, or simply a remembrance of Glen Campbell. I wanted to pull together this program from past interviews with Glen, at this special time of year, spotlighting his songs and stories in his own words...for you Campbell fans to enjoy, now!

These are his "good times". When you have some computer time and you need some good "background"...take a listen to Glen...featuring several songs taken from his live Branson album and others from his live 1978 concert at Royal Albert Hall in the UK. Songs like "Amazing Grace" (with his bagpipes), "Loving You" (with thoughts on Elvis), a Beach Boys medley (remembering his days with the group), "God Only Knows", "Galveston" (as a ballad) and much much more. For you younger listeners who may not be familiar with Glen and his music, please take a listen, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'm always thrilled to be able to bring you these classic memories from the past! - The Winker
Cowpoke, would it be okay if I moved your posts about this audio to the Audio topic? I am afraid it will get lost in this long topic, Check Out This Link.
