Take a look at this unusual oversight by MCA Records in 1984.

The record pictured below with the white label is the promo for "Slow Nights" that was first released to radio station deejays, etc. Glen Campbell's name appears twice--in the lower half of the label--and is correctly spelled:

However, when the single was released for sale to the public, Glen's first name was misspelled on the A side in the credit: Performed by......

His first name was correctly spelled in the 4th line with "Glen Campbell appears courtesy of...."

This oversight makes for an interesting collectible (for fans who are into this type of collectible) because both Glen and Glenn are printed on the same label produced by a major record company. Image below:

At some point, I assume the single was withdrawn/reprinted because not all MCA labels contain the misspelling.

This sheet music is very rare and was published by Johnny Rivers Music.
The usage of "Jim" Webb instead of Jimmy Webb was appropriate for the time this sheet music was published.
But, here again...."Glenn".
How about that price in the lower right hand corner? What a deal!

This item is a backstage pass, presumably not worn by Glen Campbell!

Something is out-of-sorts with this drawing by a "Mark".
Not the spelling of Glen Campbell's name.
Can you tell what is wrong with this picture?

The hilarious thing is that Glen apparently autographed this picture.
(I cut off the full autograph.)

Glen had written to the right of the drawing, Thank you, Mark, and signed his name and the date.
Hmmm....my guess is that Glen purposely misformatted the date in response to the drawing!
(Campbell humor?)
lol

Nice drawing, BTW.

In "keeping with tradition" or a common oversight found time and time again over the years, from a few record company labels (Crest, for example) to concert posters and Billboard ads, the misspelling of "Campbell" occurred again--this time on Debby Campbell's new CD.

Apparently, not all CDs were produced with this error on the disc. If you have one of these erroneous discs, it may just be a collectible CD in the future because of the rarity of a misprint by a record label.

A Glen Campbell compilation "Country Boy's Hits" on CD was released in 2016.
Check out the second photo below of this CD's title strip viewable from the side of the jewel case.

Another Capitol Records ad misprint:

This misspelling was printed in a published ad (possibly in Billboard) promoting Glen Campbell's "Southern Nights" single released on January 17, 1977, which would have been 15 years after Glen had first signed with the Capitol label.

The single was released from Glen's 1977 'Southern Nights' album and was indeed a "smash" hit, reaching No. 1 on three separate U.S. charts.
