Yes, the tour calendar you located helps tremendously! Thank you, Randy!

I did a quick search on this calendar (and will re-check)...it appears that The Esquires only opened one other time in 1965 for The Beach Boys: September 4th. By this date, Glen was no longer touring with The Boys. This info helps to confirm the Feb. 21 date and concert--as well as the photograph's date! :)

In The Beach Boys with Glen photo posted below by Cowpoke, the two gentlemen in the black suits are...
...members of a short-lived Canadian band known as The Esquires.

I believe this photo was taken on February 21, 1965, at a Beach Boys concert held at Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto ON, Canada. On the evening of the 21st, The Esquires were one of three opening acts for the Boys (info from The Beach Boys' Smiley Smile Forum). Glen Campbell was filling in for Brian Wilson's tour appearances at this time.

During The Esquires brief time in the spotlight, they became the opening act for The Rolling Stones, The Dave Clark Five and Roy Orbison as well as The Beach Boys.

To be confirmed: on setlist.fm.com, supposedly The Boys & Glen covered Roy Orbison's "Crying" with "Glen Campbell on lead vocals". Same date/month in 1965. [I sure would love to have this song performance by Glen verified. His set list with The Beach Boys--including his set list as a solo artist opening for The Boys--is either relatively undocumented or I just haven't found the right source for this info.]

Thanks so much for posting the photo, Cowpoke. It is historically important because photos of Glen on tour with The Beach Boys as a replacement for Wilson are not all that common. Also, The Esquires were one of the first Canadian bands to be signed on a major label, Capitol Records. Best of all, the original photograph has been carefully curated over the years and is now in a special photography collection with the University of Calgary.

There have been quite a lot of pictures of Glen while he was with The Beach Boys published on the internet. This one I hadn't seen before...
