There is a wonderful display of Glen's guitars at the Country Music Hall of Fame museum. Most of the guitars are well known by the guitar experts (I am not one of them). But one guitar is new. It's a Dillion guitar and forum friend Dee took some pictures of it.

Here's the complete list of guitars that are on display there.

Here's some more information from Dillion guitars, including a picture of Glen with this guitar.

It's perhaps a guitar that was recently given to Glen?

This is a “Breadwinner” and is (was) made by Ovation. It was a solid body, much like the Les Paul is. There were three models… Breadwinner, Breadwinner Ltd and Deacon. Ovation (again) innovated the active pre-amp for the electric guitar, with this model. Glen used it quite often. Glen also played the 12 string version, which doesn’t show up much on the secondary market. The Breadwinner itself was pretty popular and is still commonly available on the secondary market.

Here you can see Glen play a Breadwinner on Ain't No Sunshine.

Glen Campbell performing Aint No Sunshine and other songs.

Thanks Jay!

Thanks, Mike;

No, mine is not the RFH Country Artist. It is very similar, probably made around the same time as mine and has the Prismatone pickup but there are a couple of cosmetic differences between the two: mine has Glen's initials inlaid at the 12th fret in abalone and (and this distinguishes mine from any of the others) it has a bridge that is shaped like a steel-string bridge, instead of the standard, rectangular classic style bridge.

I'm sure this is 'too much info' for most of the readers here, but there it is ;-)

Those are great guitars guys. Bluebird is that Country artist guitar the same one Glen plays at the Festival Hall concert in 1977 ?. I noticed it also has the American flag badge attached to the guitar body.
The bluebird 12 string is probably the most recognisable guitar Glen uses, what sort of value would that have now.
I managed to find an Ovation GC 1127-4 6 string a few years ago. Obviously it doesn't compare to your guitars Bluebird, but just finding one and owning it was the biggest thrill for me. And I love the sound of it.

This is also the guitar Glen is playing in the black and white pic on his Wikipedia page.

Well, back in 1951, that Broadcaster would have cost about $150.00 so while that was still a princely sum in those days, was still affordable compared to the $50,000+ being asked for them these days, lol! There are other pics of him out there with that or a similar guitar so it was probably his.

Interestingly, just now while looking for another shot of the Broadcaster, I cam across another great pic of the Country Artist I showed you earlier. This one was apparently taken at the Iowa State Fair in 1970.

Thanks Wayne! I wonder if Glen had the money to buy that Broadcaster back then. Maybe he just borrowed it from his uncle Dick Bills?

If you have more example pictures of Glen playing a certain guitar, I for one, would love to see them.

To me, this guitar looks great. I wonder if Glen bought the shirt to go with the guitar, or the other way around...

I did some minor repairs but they are both basically as they were when they left the factory.

As for pics of the guitars, some I have pics and/or videos of Glen playing them and some I do not.

For example The Country Artist shown in my previous post: Here is a link to a pic of a record cover it is featured on http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/wreid/X014% ... 20X014.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As for the guitar Glen is playing in the Albuquerque, it is one of the earliest Fender guitars called a Broadcaster and would be worth a fortune today, wherever it is.

Thanks Wayne. Those guitars look really wonderful.
Did you buy them like that, or did you "restore" them yourself? Since I read your articles on the old website and the posts in the old Music & Musicians thread, everytime I now see a picture of Glen, I wonder which guitar he is holding!

For instance, I was wondering which guitar Glen was playing while he was still in Albuquerque.

Is it possible to tell from this picture for instance?
