Totally a guess...
Same guitar
Gibson
If that is right, then

If that is right

Early in Glen's career as a studio musician, his command of the 12-string guitar brought him a lot of work. I wonder what type of guitar he played.

Semie Mosley
Started with Rickenbacker when he was a kid. Then started making his own guitars by hand. He got visibility by top names (Nokie, Glen, B Mandrell) using his guitars and then his business grew and became pretty popular. Then didnt and he went BK. Started all over again and passed away. I think one of his kids still make Mosrites.

Thanks Jay. That is very interesting. I didn't know they assembled these guitars by using different parts of different types of guitars. Who is Semie btw?

Headstock says it is a Mosrite 335 knockoff. It has a thinner body and bigger pickguard than the one in the BW picture. Depending on when this photo was taken, it might be a Gibson body, with one of Semie's necks on it. He was known to do that when he first got started.

Haha... I thought it was a very odd looking guitar but now I see there are quite a few guitars like that. Okay, what about this one?

I know, the angle of the photo is not really good for identifying that guitar. But... I love the color.

Okay, better picture, different guitar. What kind of guitar is Glen holding on the front cover of Big Bluegrass Special and did he ever actually play it?

Hi, jay,

Cowpoke only has this small size photo that originally came from Dennis McCarthy's old website. I have googled and can no longer find that website.

Does anyone else have this photo?

Thanks,

Dee

Welcome, jay!

Thanks for your question and interest in the guitar pictured here.

Cowpoke must have uploaded this photo, so I'll check the source with him.
