Hi Dee,
The world is full of critics, god knows I have come across a few in my time.They only seem happy when they have something negative to say and don't actually see the bigger picture which their small minds can't comprehend.
These guys have brought joy and entertainment to the masses for decades with there talent and creativity. Decades from now their body of work will stand the test of time and will endure as long as there are people out there who appreciate true quality. Critics like him are never remembered, because all they produce are negative comments on others who stand head and shoulders above them.
For get him Dee, and enjoy the music.

Mike, I am so glad you could view "The Highwaymen" on the other side of the pond. Glad you enjoyed it.
I thought it was great, too, especially the concert clips.
After watching the broadcast, I read what I thought was a terrible review about this PBS program:
"Country music ‘supergroup’ chronicled in lackluster doc" ( ... 1.11839742" onclick=";return false;)
I couldn't help but question: did the critic and I watch the same documentary??? He wrote:
Dating back decades, the “supergroup” was and occasionally still is one of those reliable gimmicks intended to make fans happy and promoters ecstatic. The idea is that the whole really is greater than the sum of its parts — that is, if the “parts” happen to have recently had a couple of underperforming albums, or are noticeably past their prime years. Can’t fill Madison Square Garden alone? Four stars together should do the trick (right)?
The critic also panned PBS for including "The Highwaymen" in the American Masters lineup. I feel this criticism is an off-the-wall comment considering, just this year alone, American Masters has featured Loretta Lynn, Fats Domino, Carole King, and Janis Joplin, among other artists.

Speaking of someone who continues to enjoy his/her career, Dolly Parton is now on a 60+-city concert tour and is releasing yet another new album, "Pure and Simple", with songs she has written. Check out this article from Rolling Stone and her album's debut music video at: ... e-20160711" onclick=";return false;. (Regrettably, concert tickets and packages are out of my price range; for example, $2,000 for front row, center orchestra!)

Beautiful live performance, too, at:" onclick=";return false;

One with her family, harmonizing on "Mama":" onclick=";return false;

I saw this show Dee,
great to see these guys really enjoying each others company and performing together. That must be what they mean when they say if you enjoy what you do you never have to work a day in your life.
