Kim Campbell to speak in Lexington, Kentucky on March 15, 2016. (See article for details.)
Kim Campbell said she speaks out about the disease to help families, because Alzheimer’s “is definitely the most feared disease. You lose control of your life. There are identity issues and autonomy issues.”

She also advises caregivers to give themselves breaks and self-care.

“They talk about the ‘silver tsunami’ that’s coming,” Kim Campbell said of the tide of expected Alzheimer’s cases among Baby Boomers. “The stress for caregivers is enormous.”

Glen Campbell's Life Living With Alzheimer's
By Michael Rothman
Good Morning America
May 1, 2015

Excerpt from article:
"The documentary ('I'll Be Me') is uplifting and positive." That's the message Kim (Campbell) wants to spread.
"A lot of people are afraid if it's Alzheimer's in the subject, it's going to be very depressing," she said. "It's something people have kept under the covers and felt like they needed to be discrete about, but it's a disease that affects 5.4 million people in the United States and almost every single family is touched with it, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. People rally around you and want to give you all the support that's possible." For that reason, she has continued her husband's work of raising awareness for the disease, while he cannot.
