"Since (Glen Campbell's) death last year at age 81, Ms. Campbell has been reaching out to other caregivers and families of Alzheimer patients through appearances and a website, CareLiving.org. Her mission is to urge caregivers to get help and support.

The Alzheimer’s Association estimates 5.7 million Americans have the disease and 16 million people provide them with unpaid care. “So often caregivers are the second victims of the disease,” Ms. Campbell said. “No one should have to go through this alone.”

She will share her personal struggles as a caregiver Friday (9/14/18) as keynote speaker for the annual breakfast of the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania."

"Glen Campbell's Wife on Living with Alzheimer's": Kim Campbell’s marriage of more than three decades to pop-country music legend Glen Campbell is a testament to devotion and overcoming adversity. Kim helped Glen beat cocaine addiction and alcoholism only to face their greatest challenge when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011. Kim supported her husband through the tumultuous hardships that accompany the disease and has become a tireless, influential voice for all people living with Alzheimer’s."

Kim Campbell spoke on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at a special presentation for caregivers held at Brentwood Baptist Church located just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
One of Kim's suggestions to her audience about caregiving: "....never feel guilty about asking for help."
“When you are open and honest with people with what you’re going through, they just want to support you,” Kim Campbell said.
This event was sponsored by the Morning Pointe Foundation.

Not sure this is the right place but Kim Campbell will talk about being an Alzheimer's Caregiver in the Dallas area tonight. A small article was in the Dallas Morning News. It is in Lake Highlands and no I am not attending, but nice to know the word is getting around so more people are aware of this terrible disease. Thanks Kim for spreading the word to others. It is listed as "Kim Campbell, wife and caregiver of country music legend Glen Campbell." At 6 PM Monday, she will speak about her journey as an Alzheimer's caregiver.
