That's a great find Cowpoke. Do I need to set up an account to watch other clips on the site.

Cowpoke, thank you so much for posting the link for historical films!

I found Glen and The Champs on page 2 when I searched using "Glen Campbell", reel number F-0744, WBAY Radio with DJ Johnny Saxe. Glen is so young here in 1960!
It was cool to see Jerry Cole (and his wife) as well -- Jerry being a friend of Glen's for many years.

I appreciate your sharing this link with rare footage of Glen in 1960!

Dee

P.S. In the band scene, is Glen holding the infamous Epiphone guitar?

The sad thing about that site is they will not sell you any of the footage becuse they only deal with Media outlets only. I think they also have all the "Goodtime Hour" Shows as well, if not them than another Company like them has all the shows.

Next to the footage of Glen with The Champs, http://www.historicfilms.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has some more footage with Glen available online. Just search that website using "Glen Campbell" as search term.

I think the most interesting clip, next to the one with The Champs, is about the inauguration of Ronald Reagan in 1981. So not only did Glen sing during the 1980 Republican National Convention, performing the National Anthem with Tanya Tucker, but he also was present at Ronald Reagan's inauguration, on January 19th, 1981.

I just saw this video on YT. Shannon and Ashley at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN.
I really love the song "Some things I keep". Wonderful stuff.

Hi, Mike!
Thanks for posting the song, "Keep on Smilin'", from YT!
It put a smile on my face.
It's still there.
And it inspired me to pull out my Sesame Country album and post about it under "Glen's Discography".
I hadn't thought about this album for some time, not since I played it as a child. ;)

Thanks Siblis for posting this special NJ Goodbye Tour concert link! It's a GREAT keepsake of the tour, isn't it?

Randy, thank you for sharing the additional information from the YouTube uploader of this wonderful video. Love those standing ovations that were a spontaneous outpouring of love from Glen's fans! These ovations had to be the best medicine for GC when he was touring. And now "I'll Be Me" is getting similar ovations as well.

Glen and Ashley: they are really marvelous here. Glen--the proud father!
Also, don't you think that Glen always enjoyed playing "off" of another musician, appreciating the challenge and competitiveness of playing perfectly in sync (never trying to oust the other player)?

Glen playing with Jerry Reed is another example of this kind of performance. Here's one:

http://youtu.be/nqxv3DbXO4k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Jerry Reed & Glen Campbell - Guitar Man"

(There are probably better examples out there in YouTube land, in terms of video quality....)

And somewhere on YouTube I have seen Glen and Roy Clark performing together...literally, back to back...on a Jerry Lewis Telethon, I believe. Does anyone remember this video's name or have the link to it?

Thx Siblis for that YT link. I've watched it several times and actually left a comment some time back.

Two things I really really noticed was Glen's huge smile playing dueling banjo's with Ashley. I know he was really proud as that was amazing. And the huge standing ovation after "Witchita".

Thanks so much Mr. Beyer for that outstanding upload!!!

David Beyer

Thanks arciefan for comment. There were several more standing ovations that were edited out. Would have been 10 mins. longer
