I am pretty sure this is the picture in question. Is Glen playing a strat here?
I always had the impression that this picture was taken during the recording sessions of the Rhinestone Cowboy album. But I have no way to prove it.

Hi 54ST,
I'm afraid the problem is that that picture on photobucket is no longer available. Maybe I was smart enough to save that picture somewhere. I will take a look and let you know!

I'm afraid that's a post form the previous forum and Bucky is not a member anymore. I also don't know what picture he was referring to there.
Argh, I spent literally hours googling for pictures of Glen playing Stratocaster guitars during the 60s and 70s and couldn't find anything other than that one from 1964. Is there an archive with more of the kind?

Bucky, do you still have that picture archived somewhere? It's so hard to find live picture of Glen from the 60s and 70s!

Jeff......No I have not seen that on youtube. I received the 2 Mike Douglas Shows in a trade over the years & both are EXC in quality. Do you have footage on Glen that we can trade?

Thanks!

I have an appearance of Glen when he was on the "Mike Douglas Show" in 1965 & it looks like he playing that guitar in the photo below.

Y'all pardon me for butting in, especially since I know little about guitars, but it just dawned on me that one of the more recent "Best of" CD's has an alternate pic from the Gentle photo sessions, he's wearing the same coat, except he's got the guitar turned upside down, so you can see the rest of it. Hopefully the picture is included in this post.

Thanks Paul, Wow, that was a surprise. I had always assumed (for the last 40 yrs, since grade school) that the guitar on the album cover was an acoustic. Thank goodness for YouTube (and your wealth of knowledge), I now stand corrected.

I have another one for you, Do you know what he is playing on "The Astounding 12-string Guitar of Glen Campbell" album cover ? I guess I always assumed that these two instruments were one and the same. Wrong !!

Do you have an opinion on the Ovation 1718 ,

thanks man
