Glen Campbell's 1966-69 Mosrite Dobro Richmond D-50e
The name "Dobro" originated in 1928 when the Dopyera brothers formed the Dobro Manufacturing Company. "Dobro" a contraction of " Do pyera bro thers". Semie Moseley bought the "Dobro" name from the Dopyera Brothers around '66. Along with some of the craftsmen, ...

Re: Ovation 1624 (Proto X014)
Dee,
Wayne does own the guitar and I posted his pictures in the original post.
Wayne is hoarding several of Glen's guitars. I know where he lives, but would have to get a passport and probably a snowmobile to attempt to bring them back to their rightful country of origin.

Re: Ovation 1624 (Proto X014)
Thanks Wayne! I can't imagine how that feels to have that guitar, and watch it 44 years ago. The irony is...all of that freakin out by Charlie...all of that R&D by Ovation...Probably around the clock production...and he isn't plugged in. Yeah...it all looks and sounds ad libbed, right from the r...

Re: Mosrite Balladere I, Model 401
Nice find, Wayne...and thanks for sharing that.
Too bad no one ever had the conversation with Semie about his relationship with Glen back then. They HAD to have one. Glen didn't play Mosrites for that long of period of time and he had a slew of them...some with personalized necks.

Re: Can You Identify These Guitars?
I thought someone had posted a question about THIS GUITAR
The broken"f" hole is a good indicator that it is anOscar Schmidt...older model. At one point in time I thought it was a Harmony...but fret markers and the f hole really match up well to the Oscar Schmidt.

Re: Can You Identify These Guitars?
Yes, Mosrite was not known for their acoustics and Semie was a poor acoustic craftsman, but Glen actually played a couple of them.

Re: Glen's ovation patriot
Madethescene, I took a little time today to get aquainted with your father...My goodness! I had no idea who he was. But I certainly recognized his work. First of all, he was part of the Newbeats ...wow! He toured with the ROLLING STONES? And a personal favorite...Roy Orbison. Appears to have had a k...

Re: Glen's ovation patriot
Beautiful...just beautiful. #14...that is tremendous.
Thank you for sharing your pictures.
Let me ask Bill, if any records exist for this model.
If you ever put it on the secondary market, would you let me know?

Re: The Glen Sound
Frank, The SD concert was towards the end of Jeff's tenure with Glen. I am sure you are familiar with the Line 6 Pod...he obviously was modding if he was using that at some point. And of course since they were making a CD and DVD, no doubt they wanted to make sure they got the sound Glen wanted at S...
