During Glen Campbell's career, he had mentioned in many interviews and print publications that he wanted to record a jazz album. (Not sure that "Dylan Jazz" counts)
Here is one amazing video of Glen jazzing it up with Chuck Mangione and band! (Many thanks to Diamond Pleshaw for recently uploading this rare video to his YouTube channel.)

Love the Beach Boys' video with Glen Campbell's "insider" stories about being part of the band, Randy!
This video even has a couple of photos of Glen performing on stage with the Boys that I had never seen previously!
Thanks! :)

Highlights of a Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour celebrating music of the fifties with guest stars David Cassidy and Little Richard. Aired in October 1971.
Missing from the video clips below are guests Buffalo Bob Smith and Howdy Doody"! The second video includes Glen's rockin' performance of "Rip It Up".

But first....photos from this episode!

Glen is so gracious..."This is living proof that my folks had children that sing: my brother, Shorty."

I agree with Randy and Mike that eventually "And I'm doing fine" took on a new meaning, saying something about the singer as well as the character in the song. But even then it had a double , bittersweet meaning, especially poignant when Glen sang it during his Goodbye Tour.

I think Glen started to use the "And I'm doing fine " a few years after Glen got married to Kim and finally found a deeper happiness in his life. I felt Glen seemed happier overall and this seemed to fit how he felt his life was going at that time. Of course that is just my opinion, but Glen did go through a big make over in the late 80's (Gone was the beard) and he always looked very sharp in his clothes choice. I think he also lost some weight. Other than that, it may just have been that the new phrase fitted better as it only had five syllables and rhymed better. ( Perhaps Jimmy had told him off for changing his lyrics again, and gave him a better alternative.)
