Bobby Goldsboro Answers Did Glen Co-Own This Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with Bobby Goldsboro?

Bobby Goldsboro responded to my inquiry (through his manager) about this Rolls Royce. He relayed:
We asked Bobby about the Rolls. He said he never co-owned a Rolls with Glen. He heard about this some time ago. He believes Bobby Russell may have owned the car at one time.

Sorry we can’t help more.

A 1969 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 4-door is for auction on Ebay with papers, showing the original owner is Glen Campbell.

I am not sold that Glen ever drove this RR.
Glen has owned some RR's and this one is certainly the least impressive.
Interestingly, Bobby Goldsboro also showed to be an owner and is listed first.
It shows the owners address in Nashville, which Glen never lived at...and Bobby appears to have lived in Nashville at the time.

Music promoter, Tim Knight, stated in a 2021 article:
"Then in 1969, I helped Bobby Goldsboro get to number 2 in the UK charts with the song Honey. As a thank you, he bought me a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, which I drove around for years"

Glen Campbell's Rolls Royce Corniche

Post by jay »

On page 63 of Kim Campbell's book "Gentle on My Mind: In Sickness and in Health with Glen Campbell" she states that Glen took her to a house he had recently purchased in Phoenix, Arizona and she observed as they drove up:
A cobblestone driveway passed through wrought iron entry gates where, in the circular motor court, Glen's cream-colored Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible stood, top-down to show off the cranberry leather seats.
This Rolls was reported to be an 80s model.

Update- The last legible letter on the rear of the wagon is "K", making it a Colony Park wagon, most likely a 1968.

Upper mid-level trim (woodgrain sides etc), plus the 'Stang in the picture- the Campbell Clan was doing all right at this point.

Nice little archive image, to boot. Blows up nicely to 8 X 10 if you wish.

Pretty sure the Mustang is a '66. Badging, wheel cover, and the body crease that barely clears the fender well point in that direction.

Not so good on the wagon, but it's certainly a FoMoCo product about the same vintage..

Glen Campbells 1968 Mercury Station Wagon and Ford Mustang

Post by jay »

I am sure it is a Ford Mustang. I am sure it is a Mercury station wagon. I am pretty close on the year model. I am not sure what make the station wagon is, but I will keep looking. It looks like an "E" by the tail light.

Glen Campbell's 1974 Cadillac Eldorado Station Wagon

Post by jay »

Glen Campbell is said to have received this car from Barris Kustom Industries in North Hollywood. It's "Persian Green" and was featured on the 1973 or 1974 edition of Motor Track magazine along with Evil Knievils Cadillac pick up truck. It was built specifically for Glen Campbell and was one of 7 built. There are no pictures available of the car with Glen. It has been sold and reconditioned several times and each time has been linked to Glen.

Post by jay »

At one time, Glen owned this beautiful car. It was used in a photoshoot with Glen and Bobbie Gentry.

In 1969 the car was sold to basketball great, Nate Thurmond. It is currently for sale.
