Still on the Line: A Tribute to Jimmy Webb
By Various Artists
Vinyl (release date: September 29, 2015)
Label: Flannel Graph

Available for pre-order on amazon.

Editorial Review from amazon:
For the last 50 years, American popular music has been filled with the timeless songs of Jimmy Webb and we are thrilled to help continue that legacy with Still on the Line: A Tribute to Jimmy Webb . These are 12 new recordings by artists who share our passion for his songs, which we consider to be some of the most emotionally moving and skillfully crafted of all time. Part of Webb s unique talent lies in the versatility of his songs. While Where s the Playground Susie and Galveston were hits for Glen Campbell, they find a fresh new home in the voices of Bonnie Prince Billy & Elephant Micah. By the Time I Get to Phoenix, considered by Frank Sinatra to be the greatest torch song ever written, sounds as heartbreaking as ever when performed here by Mike Adams At His Honest Weight. While none of these songs are meant to replace any of their previously recorded versions, they demonstrate their strength to grab our hearts no matter the genre, voice or decade where they find themselves. All profits from the sale of Still on the Line: A Tribute To Jimmy Webb will go to benefit Mother Hubbard s Cupboard, a food pantry in Bloomington, Indiana.
Track Listings
1. The Cairo Gang "Ocean In His Eyes"
2. Nicholas Krgovich "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress"

You sure can, Randy!
Glen is just as humbled and overcome by the love from the audience as perhaps he was when he first performed in front of an audience!

Just a reminder for fans who live in or around White Mills, Pennsylvania, the Wildflower Music Festival is coming up. Jimmy Webb is on the festival's concert series:

JIMMY WEBB: THE GLEN CAMPBELL YEARS
Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 6 pm
$29 (Special Concert)

"Jimmy Webb and Glen Campbell were an unexpected pairing: a multi-platinum recording artist arch-conservative and a child prodigy long-hair stoner songwriter. Yet Campbell and Webb became one of the most successful musical collaborations of all time. Their mutual admiration and sincere affection for one another has yielded a 50-year friendship, more than 100 recordings and timeless chart-topping hits including “By The Time I Get To Phoenix,” “Wichita Lineman,” “Galveston,” “Where’s the Playground, Susie,” “Honey Come Back” among others. In this show, America’s songwriter Jimmy Webb shares the music and personal stories of a friendship that provided the soundtrack for generations." (Concert description is from the Festival's website)

Tickets may be purchased online at: http://dorflinger.org/wildflower-music-festival/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I highly recommend this show!

Jimmy Webb to spin musical tales of Glen Campbell at Schwartz Center
by Craig Horleman
May 28, 2015
On June 5, Mr. Webb will celebrate a musical partnership that resulted in more than 100 recordings and a lasting friendship by premiering his show “Jimmy Webb: The Glen Campbell Years” at Dover’s Schwartz Center for the Arts. The production, which includes rare recordings, photos, videos, stories and virtual duets between the two men, had a three-day technical tryout in a small venue in Oklahoma City earlier this month but the Dover audience will be the first to see the fine-tuned product.
“I don’t think the public is as informed as they could be in terms of the seminal influence that Campbell had on early rock ‘n’ roll and the amazing number of recordings that he played on that went into the DNA of forming rock ‘n’ roll....--Jimmy Webb

The link to the first interview mentioned in this article is posted below.

Stay tuned for Dee's review of this show.

Hey Mike, thanks for your reply! I guess they are demos. Do you have any idea about the recording date, based on the songs or Jimmy's voice or the arrangements?
Suspending Disbelief is a wonderful album. I especially love the last part, from Postcard from Paris on.
