On the road with The Beach Boys - celebrating 50 Years of endless summer days
If you will be attending a Beach Boys/Brian Wilson tour concert in the near future, look for the tour program's special page devoted to Glen Campbell. How cool is it that Glen is being recognized in this way after touring with the Boys 50 years ago when Brian was on leave!
With this year marking the 50th anniversary of the Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) album, The Beach Boys are offering a special collector’s tour program available exclusively at merchandise tables at the shows. The program includes an exclusive interview with Bruce Johnston about joining the band, a multitude of rare and previously unpublished images from 1965, and a page dedicated to Glen Campbell’s brief tenure on the road with the group.
Randy, that is a wonderful tribute to Kim, and long over due.
It really hit me the statement by Kim " I can't share the past with Glen, I can't share planning a future with Glen, but I can share each moment with Glen. He is teaching me to live in the moment". Wise words for all of us.

Randy, thank you for the beautiful article you posted, Business Class: Kim (Mrs. Glen) Campbell: I'll be me too.
It is wonderful to see Kim Campbell receiving well-deserved (and long overdue) recognition in the press.
It's about time.
I agree with you that Randall Kenneth Jones, the author, is telling it like it is.
His article made me question how many people do I know whose "business" is simply "to care"?
It's a rare "profession", isn't it?
A rare quality.
Thanks again, Randy. And thanks for caring.

C. STINNETT: The unfinished ‘Wichita Lineman' was anything but a wreck
July 21, 2015
Great article covering some history about the song, "Wichita Lineman", Glen Campbell, Jimmy Webb, and The Wrecking Crew.
This line caught my eye about WL: "The song is catnip for performers." Never heard it put that way before!
Here's the blog entry by Verne Gay mentioned in the post below.

Why all this fuss suddenly over Glen Campbell....?
We being anyone who has lived during the last 50 years, or once listened to his records, or watched his old TV music variety series, like "Shindig," (where he appeared often and well) or teared up -- maybe just a little -- when Rooster Cogburn pulled up that battered, beaten, shot-up Texas Ranger by the name of Laboeuf out of the snake pit in 1969's "True Grit." "I ain't dead yet, you bushwhacker," said an indignant Laboeuf.
His discography is impressive (click on MUSIC; then DISCOGRAPHY). When you click on the song titles with an arrow, you will be linked to YouTube to listen to the songs.
Glen and Jerry's friendship goes way back to their early career days in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
They collaborated on songwriting together. On Jerry's discography page, scroll down to the bottom and click on VIEW CO-WRITERS.

Wonderful new interview with the great Carl Jackson.
During the interview, he speaks about meeting Glen Campbell for the first time--at a State Fair--and how it came about that Glen initially hired Carl.
Carl says that when Glen hired him, it "started the best 12 years of my life".
Quotes from Carl:
"Glen is THE greatest singer this nation has ever known, as far as I am concerned--the world,"
"...his vocals were absolutely perfection."
"I can't say enough good things about Glen Campbell."
Driving to this interview, Carl was listening to Glen Campbell songs from the box set, "The Legacy"!
