It's one of Glen's best song from the latter days of his career. A highlight from the Adios album, written and lovingly produced by Carl Jackson. I bet Carl loved Glen finally recording this biographical song he wrote about Glen years before.

Now what the heck are buckle bunnies :D

Having grown up in the Permian Basin back in the 60s/early 70s, all you could get is local AM CW stations (unless you waited until dark for Xrok out of Mexico). Glen could have certainly had a hit with this one back during those days. Today's country is best described by the late Tom Petty "bad rock with a fiddle", so it didn't stand a chance. But this one would have been a chart-topper for all the rednecks and buckle bunnies when CW was pure.
